Training programmes, coaching sessions or team workshops have been a standard in co-located teams for years now. Why are they, then, so often skipped in case of the distributed teams? Team members who work from different (often distant) locations have actually same, if not higher, professional development needs as people working in the same space. Employers who resign of training their crew, on the other hand, lose a chance to build competitive advantage or significantly improve business results.
At WIYO we believe that the distance between members of a distributed team is not a an obstacle for running training programmes. We have tested in practice that the learning process can be successfully brought into team’s natural working environment: the virtual one. This can be achieved by carefully choosing the right content, tool and training methods.
